What to expect: This gracious hotel, located on a pretty residential street, attracts a mix of corporate and leisure guests. Valets are available at both the front entrance and in the covered parking structure, which provides direct access to the elegant, traditional-style lobby with marble, thick rugs, slip-covered furnishings, and floral arrangements. Renovations are scheduled for 2003. Amenity highlights: Toppers Restaurant & Cantina, the hotel’s 18th-floor restaurant, offers a menu of Latino cuisine, and provides superb water and city views through nearly wraparound windows. The hip gift shop in the lobby also houses a café-like counter that serves specialty coffees, juices, pastries, and other snacks. Wireless Internet is available in virtually all areas of the hotel (for a daily subscription charge).
