Whist: Creative cuisine is served for all meals in this acclaimed lobby-level restaurant with padded gray banquettes, bright green chairs, tables set with white linens, and an entire wall displaying five shelves of crockery. Outdoor dining is available. Cameo Bar: One of L.A.’s most happening spots, this mirrored-ceiling lobby bar is furnished with eclectic seating arrangements that combine large white chaise lounges, high-backed chairs, low padded benches, glass cocktail tables, and a marble bar. The outside dining cabanas are the prime seats in the house for cocktails and light meals.

AMENITIES & SERVICES
What to expect: This relatively nondescript building is barely marked. But the valets know where the guests are, swooping in as they arrive in the covered entrance. This place is bold, dramatic, and appeals mainly to cosmopolitan guests in the recording, entertainment, and fashion industries. Amenity highlights: The lobby and gathering places are cosmopolitan conglomerations of dramatic décor with a splash of British and a dash of gold shag, furnished with over-sized white chaise lounges and groupings of low benches, high-back chairs, deep sofas, and glass cocktail tables. Dining cabanas, often frequented by Hollywood heavyweights, surround two outdoor pools. Guests who tire of people-watching may take in the sweeping ocean views. Insider tip: The Whist restaurant and Cameo Bar (particularly the outside dining cabanas) are the happening scenes for recording and entertainment industry execs, fashion models, and LA hipsters. Guests longing to be part of the action, but fearing they won’t be able to score a table, take heart – priority is given to hotel guests.
